Volunteer Spotlight: Aisha

By April 20, 2021February 7th, 2022eMS News

April 18-24, 2021 is National Volunteer Week! Please join us as we thank the wonderful volunteers who help us fulfill our mission: To improve the quality of life of individuals and their families living with MS and related neurological diseases through care, support, education and research. #NVW

Our MS Young Professionals Network (MSYPN) provides an opportunity for young professionals to support the work of the RMMSC and   awareness of the prevalence of multiple sclerosis in Colorado through networking, volunteering with RMMSC programs, and fundraising events. One of our MSYPN members, Aisha Henry, has helped with all aspects of our MSYPN and more.

Since Aisha joined our MSYPN in 2018 she has been a huge help to the RMMSC. Aisha is so involved and that she is also willing to volunteer for new programs. One of our newest programs is our mentorship program for children with MS. Aisha’s mentee is so appreciative to have someone to talk to about future plans, MS, and daily life. It’s so great to have such a positive role model for our mentorship program.

When asked why she volunteers at the RMMSC, Aisha said “I wanted to meet others who share similar experiences as well as give back to the MS community. I’ve learned that there is a silver lining with my MS diagnosis – being able to share my experience with the intent that it brings support and hope to others with MS.” Aisha’s support and volunteerism has definitely impacted so many within our organization, and for that, we are forever grateful.
