Volunteer Spotlight: Bonnie

By April 3, 2019February 7th, 2022eMS News

April 7-13, 2019 is National Volunteer Week! Please join us as we thank the wonderful volunteers who help us fulfill our mission: To improve the quality of life of individuals and their families living with MS and related neurological diseases through care, support, education and research. #NVW

Bonnie Kissling has volunteered with the RMMSC’s hydrotherapy program since she retired in 2013. She was first introduced to the program by a friend who volunteered at the RMMSC, and was convinced to check it out. Bonnie felt a calling to volunteer because she has MS, and she wanted to work with people who were impacted by the disease.

Bonnie’s passion for helping others is evident when she talks about the hydrotherapy program and when she helps lead the exercises. When asked about her favorite part of volunteering, Bonnie said “You do so much for yourself day to day, it’s good to give back. Everything I’ve been given has been given back to me. I’ve met so many great people and made so many friends.”

We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated, passionate, and giving volunteer. We hope that Bonnie’s story encourages others to volunteer with hydrotherapy. If you’re interested in checking out what hydrotherapy is all about, please contact our Hydrotherapy Coordinator, Michele at dmicheleharrison@netzero.net.
