Volunteer Spotlight: Patrick

April 17-25, 2022 is National Volunteer Week! Please join us as we thank the wonderful volunteers who help us fulfill our mission: To improve the quality of life of individuals and their families living with MS and related neurological diseases through care, support, education and research. #NVW

Patrick Ross began volunteering with the RMMSC in 2019. He wanted to learn more about MS and to give back since his mother was diagnosed with MS a few years prior. Patrick, with the help of a co-worker, also helped the RMMSC become more connected with FirstBank, a company that is now a big supporter of the RMMSC.

The first program Patrick became involved in is the MSYPN. Through this group, Patrick met other individuals with family members with MS and also connected with individuals with MS. It gave him the opportunities to understand MS better, to take advantage of educational opportunities, to network, and to participate in events and fundraisers. As Patrick learned more about the Rocky Mountain MS Center, he participated in more events and joined our Gala Committee. In 2022, Patrick became our Gala Auction Co-Chair so that he could help the fundraising efforts for the Rocky Mountain MS Center and in turn, support his mom event more.

When asked why he volunteers with the RMMSC, Patrick said that the center “maintains a warm and welcoming environment for anyone who interacts with them, and they truly about the cause and improving the lives of everyone they meet. Getting to know the members and clients has taught me so much and has changed my life for the better.”

Special thanks to Patrick for being such an amazing volunteer and for helping us further our programs and services through his involvement!
