Volunteer Spotlight: Gary & Joli

April 17-25, 2022 is National Volunteer Week! Please join us as we thank the wonderful volunteers who help us fulfill our mission: To improve the quality of life of individuals and their families living with MS and related neurological diseases through care, support, education and research. #NVW

Gary and Joli Garcia have been long time supporters of the Rocky Mountain MS Center. They first became involved in our organization with their daughter, Reese, was diagnosed in 2015 at the age of 23. Reese became involved with the MS Young Professionals Network and started bringing her parents to the RMMSC events and activities (Joli even climbed a 14er to fundraise for MS programs and services with our MS4MS event). Through the events and activities, Gary and Joli became connected with the mission of the RMMSC and wanted to help. In fact, they are supporters of our MSYPN Drag Queen Bingo event, they’ve spoken at some of our panels, and they are now our 2022 Gala Co-Chairs.

When asked why they support the RMMSC and volunteer, Gary and Joli said “We enjoy the opportunity to meet all those involved with RMMSC and participate in the activities and events that they sponsor. We know that RMMSC is very focused on improving the life of those with MS and in supporting research and education. It is amazing to see how far diagnosis and treatments have evolved due to the efforts of doctors, researchers, and organizations like the RMMSC. Our daughter is benefiting from that evolution in treatment. We want to support that progress in any way we can.”

We are so grateful that Gary and Joli have become so involved with our events, programs, and services, It’s because of volunteers like them that our mission is possible.
