On an individualized basis, the MS Clinic staff integrates medical care with other programs offered through the Rocky Mountain MS Center.
Patients receive state-of-the-art diagnostic evaluations, recommendations regarding disease-modifying agents, and symptom management. This specialized and individualized care is provided in a multi-disciplinary, patient-friendly setting.
The Rocky Mountain MS Center Clinic staff recommends that most new patients participate in a functional assessment and new patient education programs. A functional assessment includes:
- Assessment of physical and mental fitness
- Adjustment to and education about MS
- Nutritional status
- Home and community needs
- Life planning
- Stress management

This approach helps create a treatment plan tailored to each person’s unique needs and identifies non-neurological problems that may affect a person’s well being. New patient education concerning MS at the time of diagnosis is a crucial first step in learning to live with MS.
