Overview and Features

Welcome and thank you for your interest! This site is run by the Rocky Mountain MS Center, a non-profit corporation located in Colorado.

Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is becoming increasingly popular, especially among people with chronic diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS). Unfortunately, objective and accurate CAM information related specifically to MS is difficult to find. Accordingly, we built this Site.

Our community currently consists of 24,788 people, 16,749 of whom have registered as having MS. These users contribute information about their experiences with MS, mostly as it relates to CAM, in an effort to provide some guidance to others. In other words, we are attempting to measure the community's experience with MS so that this information is available to you.

In addition, we regularly review the published literature on the subject and summarize that information. (To learn more about our methodology, click here.) The "New and Updated Reviews," a section that will continue to grow, contains hyperlinks to the abstracts of the articles that were used as the basis for the reviews.

There are three ways that you can help with our project First, you can participate in the surveys that we have developed. This will increase the available information to the community of people with MS and researchers.

Second, you can forward information about this site to others who have MS. This too will increase the quality of our information. And third, you can donate the requested $30 annual subscription fee. The money will be used to maintain and improve the information and features contained in this site.

Our mission includes the following:
  • To create a worldwide community of people interested in CAM and MS;
  • To provide accurate, unbiased, and up-to-date information about CAM and MS; and
  • To measure the experiences of our community with particular CAM therapies and other subjects of interest to people with MS.
This Site is in its infancy. Many forms have CAM have yet to be reviewed. Please register and check the site often for changes.

MS is a very serious disease and should neither be self-diagnosed nor self-treated. Nothing in this site should be viewed as a substitute for visiting your health care provider and using FDA-approved medications. Please read our disclaimer and copyright information.
